How Much Does a Jeep Lift Kit Cost? 2026 Pricing Guide — Godspeed Off-Road

How Much Does a Jeep Lift Kit Cost in 2026?

A Jeep Wrangler lift kit installed by a professional shop costs $2,800 to $12,000+ depending on lift height, shock quality, and whether additional components like control arms, track bars, and driveshafts are needed. Here’s a complete pricing breakdown based on what we install every week at Godspeed Off-Road in Sarasota, FL.

Lift Kit Pricing by Height

2–2.5 Inch Lift

$2,800 – $4,500

The most popular lift height. Fits 33–35 inch tires. Includes coil springs, Fox or Bilstein shocks, bump stops, and alignment. No driveshaft or control arm changes needed at this height. Ride quality often improves over stock.

Best for: Daily drivers who want larger tires and a more aggressive stance without compromising ride quality.

3.5 Inch Lift

$4,500 – $8,000

Fits 35–37 inch tires. Requires adjustable control arms, new track bar, extended brake lines, and likely a rear driveshaft. Fox 2.5 or King 2.0 remote reservoir shocks recommended. This is where builds get serious.

Best for: Trail enthusiasts who want real off-road capability with 35s or 37s.

4.5–6+ Inch Lift

$8,000 – $12,000+

Long-arm kits, coilover conversions, and complete suspension overhauls. Fits 37–40 inch tires. Requires regearing (4.88 or 5.13), new driveshafts, extended brake lines, and premium shocks. King, Fox, or Bilstein coilovers.

Best for: Dedicated trail rigs and show builds where maximum height and tire size are the goal.

What Affects the Price

Shock Quality

Shocks are the single biggest cost variable. A Bilstein 5100 mono-tube shock costs $75-100 each. A Fox 2.5 Factory Series remote reservoir runs $350-500 each. A King 2.5 coilover with adjuster can run $600-900 each. You need 4 shocks, so the difference between budget and premium shocks alone is $1,000-$3,000.

Control Arms

At 3.5 inches and above, factory control arms create poor geometry. Adjustable control arms from Synergy, TeraFlex, or Metalcloak add $600-$1,500 but restore proper caster angle and eliminate vibrations. This is not optional at higher lifts — it’s required for safe drivability.

Track Bar & Steering

A lifted Jeep with the factory track bar will have a shifted axle — the wheels sit off-center. An adjustable track bar ($150-$400) fixes this. Higher lifts may also need a dropped pitman arm or high-steer kit ($200-$600).

Driveshaft

At 3.5 inches and above, the rear driveshaft angle becomes problematic. A new CV-style or SYE (slip yoke eliminator) driveshaft costs $400-$800. Some kits include this; others don’t. We always check driveshaft angle and recommend replacement when needed.

Spacer Lifts vs Suspension Lifts

Spacer/Puck Lifts ($1,200–$1,800)

Metal spacers that sit on top of the factory springs. Cheapest option. Raises the body but doesn’t change suspension travel, shock performance, or spring rate. The factory shocks are now operating outside their designed range, which can cause a harsher ride and premature shock failure.

Our take: Fine for a minor level or 1-inch height increase. At 2 inches or more, a proper spring kit is a much better investment.

Suspension Lifts ($2,800+)

New coil springs sized for the lift height, matched shocks with proper travel, bump stops, and often new control arms. The suspension system works as designed — proper droop, proper compression, proper ride quality. Off-road performance improves significantly over stock.

Our take: This is what we recommend and install for 90% of builds. The difference in ride quality and capability over a spacer lift is dramatic.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a 2-inch Jeep lift cost?

A 2-inch Jeep Wrangler lift typically costs $1,200 to $2,800 installed, depending on whether you choose spacers ($1,200–$1,800) or a proper coil spring kit with shocks ($2,000–$2,800). We recommend the spring kit — it rides better, performs better, and lasts longer.

How much does a 3.5-inch Jeep lift cost?

A 3.5-inch lift typically costs $4,500 to $8,000 installed. This includes new coil springs, adjustable control arms, a track bar, bump stops, brake line extensions, and quality shocks. Fox 2.5 or King 2.0 shocks add $1,000–$2,000 over base-model shocks but make a huge difference in ride quality.

Is a body lift or suspension lift better?

Suspension lift, almost always. Body lifts are cheaper ($300–$800) but only raise the body — ground clearance, axle position, and approach/departure angles stay the same. Suspension lifts increase actual ground clearance and improve off-road capability.

Does a lift kit void my Jeep warranty?

Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer must prove your lift caused the specific failure. Quality lift kits installed properly typically don’t trigger warranty issues for unrelated systems. Mopar even sells their own 2-inch lift kit with a warranty.
