I Just Bought a Jeep — What Mods Should I Do First?
This is the most common question we hear from new Wrangler owners. Here’s the order we recommend based on what gives you the most impact per dollar:
Priority 1: Wheels & Tires
The single biggest visual and capability upgrade. Even on stock height, going to 33-inch all-terrains transforms how your Wrangler looks and performs off-road. See tire options.
Priority 2: Lift Kit
Opens up room for bigger tires and improves ground clearance. A 2.5-inch lift is the sweet spot for daily drivers who want a noticeable change without compromising ride quality. See lift options.
Priority 3: Front Bumper
A steel bumper replaces the plastic factory unit, adds a winch mount, and gives your Wrangler an aggressive look. It’s also functional trail protection. See bumper options.
Priority 4: Lighting
Better headlights make a huge difference in daily driving. Add a light bar and rock lights for trail visibility. See lighting options.
Of course, if you know exactly what you want, we can do everything at once as a complete custom build with package pricing.
Jeep Wrangler FAQ
What is the best lift kit for a Jeep Wrangler?
It depends on use. Daily driver + occasional trails: 2.5-inch TeraFlex or Mopar spring lift. Weekend warrior: 3-inch TeraFlex or Metalcloak with Fox shocks. Serious off-road: 3.5-inch+ with adjustable control arms and coilovers. We stock all major brands and help you match the right kit to your driving style. Compare lift kits.
What Jeep Wrangler upgrades are best for daily driving?
For a daily-driven Wrangler, we recommend: (1) quality all-terrain tires like the BFGoodrich KO2, (2) a modest 2.5-inch lift that doesn’t hurt highway ride quality, (3) LED headlights for better visibility, and (4) a front bumper for looks and protection. This gives you the best blend of capability and comfort.
Can I run 35-inch tires on a stock Jeep Wrangler?
On a JL Rubicon, yes — the Rubicon trim has wider fenders and enough clearance for 35s with minor rubbing at full lock. On a Sport or Sahara, 35s on stock height will rub significantly. We recommend at least a 2.5-inch lift for 35-inch tires on non-Rubicon trims, and a 3-inch lift for a completely rub-free fit.
