Ford F-150 Custom Builds — You Dream It, We Build It

Every F-150 that rolls into Godspeed Off-Road starts as a conversation. You tell us what you want your truck to do. We tell you how to get there. Then we build it — not in pieces over months at different shops, but start to finish under one roof with one team that understands how every component works together as a system.

A custom build is more than a lift kit and some wheels. It’s a complete vision executed with precision. Your F-150 is one of the most capable platforms on the market, and with the right modifications matched to the right purpose, it becomes a truck that’s uniquely yours — tuned for exactly how you drive, where you drive, and what you demand from your vehicle.

How We Build F-150s

Step 1: Consultation. We sit down and talk about your truck. What year and trim? How do you use it — daily commute, weekend trails, overlanding trips, towing a boat? What does the finished build look like in your head? What’s your timeline? We’ll pull up builds we’ve completed that match your vision so you can see real results, not renderings.

Step 2: Build spec. We put together a complete build sheet — every component, every modification, in writing. Lift height, shock package, wheel and tire specs, bumper selection, lighting, interior mods, everything. You see exactly what’s going in and what the total investment looks like before we order a single part. No surprises, no scope creep, no “while we were in there” charges you didn’t approve.

Step 3: Parts procurement. We source components from our network of direct manufacturer relationships and trusted distributors. BDS, Icon, Fox, ADD, Method, BFGoodrich, Baja Designs — we work with these brands daily and stock many common F-150 parts. Custom-order items typically arrive within 5-10 business days.

Step 4: The build. Your F-150 goes up on the lift and doesn’t come down until it’s finished. Our senior technician Daniel Capper — 26 years of automotive experience — oversees every build personally. Lift installation, suspension tuning, wheel and tire mounting, bumper fitment, wiring, alignment — everything happens in sequence, on schedule. A typical full build runs 3-5 days depending on scope.

Step 5: Quality check and handoff. Before you pick up your truck, we do a complete inspection. Every bolt torqued, every wire secured, alignment verified, test drive completed. We walk you through the build, explain any break-in procedures, and make sure you’re comfortable with everything before you drive off.

Popular F-150 Build Configurations

The Daily Driver Plus: 2-inch leveling kit, 17-inch Method wheels with 285/70R17 KO2s, Bilstein 5100 shocks, tinted windows, and a subtle LED light bar in the factory bumper. Clean, aggressive, practical. This is our most popular F-150 build — a truck that looks great in a parking lot and handles a fire road without blinking. Budget: $3,500-5,000.

The Trail Rig: 4-inch BDS lift, 35-inch tires on Fuel wheels, Icon 2.5 coilovers, aftermarket upper control arms, ADD Stealth Fighter bumper with Warn winch, 4.88 regear, rock sliders, and a Baja Designs light bar. Built for serious off-road capability while maintaining daily drivability. This is the build that handles Florida sand, Georgia clay, and Moab slickrock. Budget: $12,000-18,000.

The Overlander: 3.5-inch lift, 35-inch all-terrains, rooftop tent, rear bumper with swing-out tire carrier, dual-battery system, fridge slide, onboard air compressor, auxiliary lighting package, and interior storage solutions. Designed for self-sufficient multi-day trips. We’re seeing more and more F-150 owners building overlanding rigs, and the platform is perfect for it — the crew cab gives you sleeping space, the bed handles gear, and the EcoBoost’s torque handles loaded weight without breaking a sweat. Budget: $15,000-25,000.

The Show Truck: 6-inch lift, 37-inch tires, 5.13 regear, color-matched bumpers and fender flares, custom interior lighting, premium wheel finish, full underbody LED accent kit, and meticulous attention to detail on every visible surface. These builds take 5-7 days and demand a technician who understands that a show truck is about perfection — no visible wiring, no unfinished edges, no compromise. Budget: $20,000-35,000+.

Why Build at Godspeed?

We’re a specialty shop. We don’t do oil changes, brake jobs, or transmission rebuilds. We build trucks. That focus means our technicians see F-150 platforms every week, our parts knowledge is current, and our installation quality reflects thousands of hours of F-150-specific experience.

Building your F-150 at one shop instead of bouncing between a suspension specialist, a wheel shop, a bumper installer, and an electrician saves you time, money, and headaches. When one team builds your truck from start to finish, every component is installed with awareness of what came before and what comes next. That’s how you get a build that works as a cohesive system — not a collection of parts that happen to be bolted to the same frame.
