JK BFH II Rear Bumper Tabs for Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2016. Poison Spyder BFH II Rear Bumpers are designed for those hardcore four-wheelers who value strength, simplicity and function. This bumper was literally Built For the Hammers with the best ground clearance and departure angle possible. It is no wider than the Jeep JK Wrangler rear body tub, with angled facets to improve its ability to slide over the rocks while still protecting the corner of the tub from drop-offs and ledges.

This version of the BFH II features CNC machined high clearance recovery shackle tabs. For the ultimate in strength and durability, pair it with the JK BFH II Rear Crossmember.

Plate Steel Construction
The BFH II Rear Bumper is CNC laser-cut from high strength 3/16 and plate steel, then precision brake-formed for an exact fit. In keeping with its minimalist design parameter, the BFH II Rear Bumper has no provisions for a spare tire carrier. This bumper is intended for those hard-core wheelers who either wheel without a spare or strap the spare down into the bed of the Jeep. It may also be compatible with the OE tailgate-mounted spare tire carrier, depending on the size of the spare tire used.
High Clearance & Departure Angle
The faceted plate steel design of the JK BFH II Rear Bumper provides the Most ground/obstacle clearance and best departure angle of any JK rear bumper on the market. To achieve this, installation requires trimming the bulky rear frame rails and Stock bumper mounts. A laser-cut steel template is provided to assist with making the right cuts. These modifications include cutting into the Stock rear crossmember. At the installer discretion, the Stock rear crossmember may be plated across the open cut (materials to do this are Not included), or the crossmember removed completely.
Optional Replacement Crossmember
If the Stock crossmember is removed completely, it may be replaced with the JK BFH II Rear Crossmember (Note that there are versions of the BFH II Crossmember with or without a receiver hitch-this particular version of the BFH II Rear Bumper is specificaly designed to work with the non-receiver version-it will Not work with the crossmember that has the integrated hitch receiver (p/n 17-17-030).
High Clearance Shackle Tabs
The JK BFH II Rear Bumper includes heavy duty, high clearance Recovery Shackle Tabs. These tabs were CAD designed specifically for use with this bumper, with a high-clearance design to minimize loss of departure angle and to handle sliding off of rocks rather than hanging up on them. The tabs are CNC machined from 1 inch thick plate steel to provide a secure attachment point for 3/4 inch recovery shackles (sold separately).

Please read through the Installation Instructions so that you are Fully aware of the modifications required to your Jeep frame rails, before purchasing. This product ships as bare steel it will need to be painted or powdercoated prior to final installation. We do Not offer a powdercoat option for this item.

Multi-Faceted Design
The RockBrawler Rear Bumpers high clearance, multi-faceted design provides the best possible departure angles and corner obstacle clearance. Its appearance is streamlined and sexy, Not like the squarish, boxy shape of many other bumpers on the market. The RockBrawler is constructed of CNC laser cut, brake-formed 3/16 inch plate steel. The multiple bends and facets actually lend even more strength to the bumper design.

Unlike the Poison Spyder BFH Rear Bumper for JK, the RockBrawler Rear Bumper can be mounted without cutting or altering the Jeep frame rails.
Recessed Back-Up Lamps
Very few JK rear bumpers come with provisions for mounting backup lamps. Of those that do, fewer still allow the use of high intensity, low power drawing LED lamps. The RockBrawler Rear Bumper recessed light buckets accept 2.5 inch Round, Clear LED Lamps, the same backup lamps we have sold with our Crusher Corners.

The recessed buckets protect them from the rocks and direct light rearward rather than into the bumper interior, the way some competitor bracket-mounted lamps do. Customers may choose to wire them into the reverse light circuit, or wire them to a separate dash switch as a loading or utility light. Important: Note that the LED Lamps do Not come with this bumper, they must be purchased separately.
Works with Existing Equipment
The RockBrawler Rear Bumper is designed to work with your existing OE tow hitch. Unlike the integrated hitches found on competitor’s bumpers, the OE hitch is designed for and safely rated for towing. And best of all, its easily removable. So those who need a sturdy hitch for towing can still use the Stock one, while those who need the extra clearance for hard core off-roading can easily remove it.

The RockBrawler Rear Bumper has a built-in step/recess to provide easy access to the rear of the Jeep as well as clearance for the spare tire. This bumper may be used with the Stock spare tire carrier and up to a 35 inch tire. Rock Solid Mounting
The JK RockBrawler Rear Bumper incorporates an extra set of mounting bolts, along the bottom of the bumper which fasten into the rear crossmember. Combined with the mounting flange bolts at either side, the bumper is rigidly fastened by a total of 8 Grade 8 bolts, on three different planes to provide ultimate strength and rigidity to the mounted bumper.
Recovery Shackle Tabs
The optional Heavy Duty Recovery Shackle Tabs are CNC machined from 1 inch thick steel billet, specifically designed to accept our heavy duty 3/4 inch Recovery Shackles.

These tabs are designed to match the high clearance aspects of the rest of the bumper and minimized hang-ups. Selecting this option will get you a pair of these tabs, expertly welded to the RockBrawler Rear Bumper.

The Brawler Full Width Rear Bumper for JK provides the highest ground and tire clearance possible in a Full width JK rear bumper. This bumper brings Poison Spyder form and function to the overlander market, and to those who would like to keep their Stock JK fender flares. The bumper extends to the Full width of the Stock flares, to integrate with them cleanly while protecting them from trail hazards. This configuration includes the Single-Action spare tire carrier, high clearance recovery shackle tabs and a receiver hitch. Like all bumpers in the Brawler product line, the Full Width rear bumper is fabricated from 3/16 inch plate steel, CNC laser-cut and precision brake-formed into a low profile, high clearance design. This product ships as bare steel it will need to be painted or powdercoated prior to final installation. We do Not yet offer a powdercoat option for this item.

Full Width
Finally there is a Full Width front bumper that incorporates Poison Spyder attention to form and function, in an elegant package that integrates perfectly with the Stock Jeep or aftermarket Stock replacement fender flares. While this bumper was designed for those Jeep enthusiasts who prefer a more overland style and function to their Jeep build, or want to keep their factory flares, we could Not simply make a Full-width monstrosity like so many unsightly bumpers already on the market.

Even though it is Full width, and less likely to be used on the hard core rock trails, we still felt compelled to design it with maximum approach angle, ground clearance and tire clearance possible while still extending out to the Full width of the Stock flares to protect the corners of the Jeep.

The outriggers that extend to the edge of the flare are kept as tight to the original Brawler high clearance lines as possible, tapering outward toward the ends. This allows the best departure angles possible in a Full width rear bumper, minimizing the chances of hanging up as the rear tire comes off a rock or ledge. The outriggers are designed to integrate visually with the Stock fender flares, in a clean, almost factory look.
Bumper Plate Steel Construction
Every Brawler bumper starts out as a sheet of 3/16 inch plate steel. Our CNC laser cutter precisely cuts the flat pattern as designed in our 3D CAD system. Next the bumper parts are CNC brake-formed into the high clearance, multi-faceted pieces that will become a finished bumper. Highly skilled tradesmen weld each bumper together using precision-engineered assembly fixtures for a perfect fit. Finally the complete bumper is sent through our finishing department for final appearance surfacing and quality control checks.
Single-Action Spare Tire Carrier
The Spare Tire Carrier Single-Action-Opening feature is a huge convenience for when you are trying to open the tailgate and tire carrier with one hand, when you’ve got an armload of gear or groceries in the other. Rather than latching to itself, the tire carrier is tethered to the tailgate so that they open and close in tandem. A custom designed tie-rod assembly, bumper mechanism and Tramp Stamp keep the two pieces perfectly aligned when open, but tight and rattle-free when closed.
Tire Carrier Plate Steel Construction
The RockBrawler II Spare Tire Carrier is fabricated entirely from CNC laser cut, precision brake-formed plate steel. The pieces are expertly welded together in a specially designed assembly fixture to ensure consistent fit and quality. A web gusset design is cut into the corner of the tire carrier to provide a little Poison Spyder flare.
Extreme Duty Hinge Assembly
The extreme duty hinge assembly includes a precision CNC machined spindle and housing, with a pair of high quality Timken tapered roller bearings to provide smooth operation under the heaviest loads A spindle seal at the bottom of the hinge assembly keeps your lubrication in, and dirt and water out. The hinge assembly is capped with a CNC machined billet aluminum cap with the Spyder emblem machined in.
2-Way Adjustable Tire Mount
The tire mount is adjustable up and down, as well as in and out, to accommodate a wide variety of tire sizes up to 39 inches. The adjust-ability allows the tire to be mounted as low as possible for any tire size, to keep a low center of gravity.
License Plate Relocation Mount
The included license plate mount places the license plate at the center of the spare tire, for those who choose to move it there. Unlike the original RockBrawler rear bumper, the RockBrawler II Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier does Not obstruct the placement of the Stock license plate frame, so the installer may choose to leave it in the Stock location or move it to the center of the rear tire using the included bracket. We recommend relocating it, as the Stock mount sticks out significantly from the side of the Jeep and is just begging to be torn off by a rock along the trail. If relocating the license plate, our License Plate Delete Cover (p/n 17-04-112) and LED License Plate and 3rd Brake Light (p/n 41-04-LP6) will be useful in completing the relocation.
Integrated Hitch Receiver
The integrated hitch receiver accepts Standard 2 inch hitches and recovery accessories. It is built in to the structure of the Brawler Full Width Rear Bumper in order to provide a higher clearance, tougher hitch that is there when you need it, but tucked up higher out of the way for better clearance and departure angles on the trail. Includes integrated safety chain loops.

Important: The integrated hitch receiver is Not rated for towing. It is intended as a recovery attachment point only.
Rock Solid Mounting
The JK Brawler Full Width Rear Bumper incorporates an extra set of mounting bolts, along the bottom of the bumper which fasten into the rear crossmember. Combined with the mounting flange bolts at either side, the bumper is rigidly fastened by a total of 8 Grade 8 bolts, on three different planes to provide ultimate strength and rigidity to the mounted bumper. The drivers side floating flange allows for safe, secure tightening to the Jeep frame rails regardless of manufacturing variances from the Jeep factory.
Recovery Shackle Tabs
The Heavy Duty Recovery Shackle Tabs are CNC machined from 1 inch thick steel billet, specifically designed to accept our Heavy Duty 3/4 inch Recovery Shackles. These tabs are designed to match the high clearance aspects of the rest of the bumper and minimized hang-ups. These Heavy Duty Recovery Shackle Tabs come as Standard equipment on the Brawler Full Width Rear Bumper.
Optional Hi-Lift Jack Mount
A custom Hi-Lift Jack Mount (p/n 45-61-011), available separately, is CNC laster cut and bolts to the top of the tire carrier. It features a distinctive web design to match the corner gusset detail on the RockBrawler II Tire Carrier, and mounts the Hi-Lift jack above and forward of the spare tire to keep it tucked up and away until needed.
