For regular water crossing, extend your differential breather vents by running small-diameter tubing from the factory breather fittings to a high point in the engine bay or firewall. Seal any open body drains that could allow water into the cabin. Apply dielectric grease to electrical connectors that may be exposed to water. And always — always — change your differential fluid after any deep water crossing, as water contamination destroys gear and bearing surfaces.
