DIY Rico Step Kit 54.5 inch.The DIY Rico Step Kit from Poison Spyder allows the do-it-yourselfer to add a heavy duty rub rail and entry step to the Stock Jeep JK Rubicon rocker rails, Poison Spyder Rocker Knockers or other aftermarket plate steel rocker armor.
The components provided in the kit are similar to Poison Spyder Ricochet Rockers, hence the name of the kit.
The kit includes:
- DOM tube rub rails
- Rico Steps and end gussets
The DOM tube pieces are CNC bent and pre-Notched, ready to weld on.
The Rico Steps and gussets are laser cut from plate steel. The steps are brake-formed to provide extra strength and reverse-dimpled for foot traction.
The main tubes measure 54.5 inches long and the kit was designed specifically for the JK 2-door, LJ, and CJ-8, but might possibly be used on other vehicles if it fits. Requires welding.

Although the Body Armor can be mounted without the liner, this additional component adds protection from debris collecting between the Body Armor while protecting your Jeep factory sheet metal and paint.
The rubber liner is cut to match the lines of the Body Armor perfectly no cutting or trimming is required. Liners are sold separately and do Not automatically come with the Body Armor kits.

JK Body Armor protects the thin factory sheet metal with rugged, precision-fit 3/16 inch plate steel or aluminum. Used by itself, JK Body Armor hugs the Jeep body contours to provide protection with no loss of ground clearance.
Used with the factory Rubicon rocker rails, the JK Body Armor helps prevent trail damage that can be caused by rocks pushing the factory rocker rails up into the body. JK Body Armor is manufactured from either 3/16 inch high pressure steel plate or 3/16 inch 6061-T6 aluminum plate. Steel is preferred where the JK Body Armor will be installed by itself, without Rocker Knockers or other rocker panel protection. Aluminum is recommended where Rocker Knockers, the Stock Rubicon rocker rails or other rocker panel protection will also be used. The aluminum pieces are much lighter weight (27 lbs. lighter for the 4-door versions), yet still provide excellent load distribution characteristics when used as a secondary barrier in conjunction with external rocker rails.
Both steel and aluminum versions may be painted or powdercoated prior to installation, but only the aluminum ones may be installed raw without any protective coating. They may also be polished or clear-coated at the installers discretion. Both steel and aluminum parts are CNC-laser cut and precision brake-formed for a precise fit to the unique contours of the JK body. Bolt holes are countersunk, and stainless steel flat head cap screws are supplied for a clean, flush-surface installation. Drilling of the body is required for installation.

Note: Installation of this product includes drilling and installing 1/4-20 nut-serts. Poison Spyder Brawler Rockers provide the ultimate rocker armor protection while actually enhancing your Jeep off-road capability Not to mention they look bad-ass!

Brawler Rockers are two-piece mini-boatside style rocker armor. Each component is fabricated entirely of CNC-laser cut, precision brake-formed 3/16 inch plate steel. The upper piece fits the lower section of your Jeep exterior sheet metal like a glove, conforming to the subtle curvature of the JK and providing protection similar to Poison Spyder’s JK Body Armor.
The lower piece incorporates an extremely strong rub rail that protrudes about 3.25 inch outboard of the Jeep body tub. The top surface of the rub rail may also serve as an entry step. Below, the brake-formed 3/16 inch plate steel angles down and inward to form a high clearance boatside for sliding off of rocks and obstacles. Inside, an array of beefy 3/16 inch thick internal gussets provide ultimate strength to the Brawler Rocker.
Oval lightning holes along the length of the boatside section provide great Poison Spyder looks while allowing access to hose out mud and debris after a day on the trail. The ends of the Brawler Rockers are capped in the same 3/16 inch plate steel, in angled facets that allow up to a 40 inch tire and visually integrate with the lines of Poison Spyder front and rear JK Crusher Flares.
The upper piece attaches to the body tube using supplied stainless steel flat-head cap screws and nut-serts.The lower piece attaches to the upper piece also with stainless steel flat-head cap screws and easy-to-install clip-nuts. All fastener holes are countersunk for a flat surface using the flat-head hardware. Underneath, the lower piece attaches at the Jeep body mounts. Attaching the Brawler Rockers in this way, along several different planes, provides triangulated strength to the entire assembly. The body-mount tie-ins ensure that they are securely integrated to the strongest structural component of the Jeep the frame while also allowing the Brawler Rocker to hug the body tub as closely as possible.
Please Note that Brawler Rockers are Not compatible with body lifts.
Brawler Rockers are designed to handle a serious beating! They Not only provide unmatched rocker protection, but they also provide a super strong pivot point which can help you to maneuver through tight obstacles. The boatside design will allow the Jeep to slide off of rocks and back onto the center of the trail.The protruding rub rail keeps vertical obstructions such as trees and rock walls a safe distance from the Jeep doors and other vulnerable body parts. And when you need to change a tire or perform an extraction, the Brawler Rocker provides a strong, convenient lifting point for your Hi-Lift jack.
This product ships as bare steel. It will need to be painted or powdercoated prior to final installation. We do Not offer a powdercoat option for this item. Note that if you have previously installed Poison Spyder JK Body Armor, you will be able to re-use the existing nut-serts, saving a significant amount of installation time (Body Armor will have to be removed).
